Zhiquan “ZQ” Yeo

Hi! I’m ZQ, a software engineer, robotics mentor and occasional triathlete. I enjoy building stuff, whether useful or not, just for the sheer joy of it. I also love interesting problems, vaguely useful robotic toys, and lots of LEGO.

I majored in Computer Science with an additional major in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. I also obtained a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction degree from CMU. After working stints at Disney Research Pittsburgh and for the Singapore Government, I went on to be a senior software engineer at Bloomberg, where I’ve been since 2011.

Outside of my day job, I also mentor a high school robotics team, the G-House Pirates. We compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition, and I’ve been a mentor since 2011, and the head coach since 2017.

I love solving interesting problems both in my day job, and in the various pursuits I have outside of work. Figuring tough problems out brings me immense joy and keeps me sharp.
